01. 1. How long do I have to wait before my blood sample will be taken?
Depending on the investigation, samples are taken on a first come basis taking into account emergency cases.
02. 2. Do I get my report immediately am through with my test/investigation?
Routine investigation results are generally available within 30mins to 2hrs of collection depending on the nature/test requested. However, some investigation is more involved and may take longer. You will be duly informed by the client service department on when the results will be available.
03. 3. Do I have to come fasting for my test/investigation?
It depends on the type of investigation; you're having. Your Doctor who arranges your investigation; will tell you whether there are any specific instructions you need to follow before your test. You can eat and drink as normal before some blood tests. In other cases, you will be instructed not to eat or drink (other than water) before your test. This is known as a fasting blood test
04. 4. Can I request for my result online or via email/whatsapp messenger?
You can order for your test result online or email/whatsapp messenger, however there are some sensitive results that would require you visit the centre for result collection, you will be duly advised by the client service department.
05. 5. Can I send someone to pick up my report?
Results can be picked by a proxy whom you have given specific instruction. The proxy will be asked to produce a means of identification and also a copy of the receipt for the test done. However, sensitive results would not be released to proxies as the case maybe
06. 6. What are your operating hours?

07. 7. Where and how can I lodge a complaint?
To lodge a complaint please fill a customer complaint form at the client service desk and drop in the suggestion box or send a mail to info@zdc.com.ng to lodge a complaint.
08. 8. Can I get help to interpret my result?
Your Doctor or the healthcare professional who arranged the test, will help you to understand the results. They can understand the results because they have all the necessary information, including your personal medical history.
09. 9. Can I take medication before having a blood test?
It depends on the type of blood test; you're having and what medication you take. If you're not sure or you have any questions about your blood test, ask your healthcare professional for advice. You should never stop taking prescribed medication unless advised to do so by your healthcare team. Medication and blood test results Some medicines can affect the results of a blood test, but this doesn't necessarily mean that you need to stop taking your medicine. For example, oral corticosteroids; can increase your cholesterol levels in a blood cholesterol test. However, your doctor can take this into account when interpreting your test results, so you won't need to stop taking your medicine. If you're unsure, carry on taking your medicine as prescribed and check with your doctor. You may also want to take your medicine with you to show the person carrying out the blood test. Herbal remedies, vitamins or supplements can also affect results, so if you take any of these you should tell your doctor.
10. 10. Am I at risk of getting infected while my blood is being taken?
No... It is the policy of Zolant Diagnostics Centre Ltd to utilize single use sterile equipment when taking blood samples from patients. Our staff are trained in infection control
11. 11. I have to give a urine/sputum/stool test – how do I do this?
As tests vary, the Phlebotomist will give you instructions on how to collect the sample. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
12. 12. I have very difficult veins. How can I be sure your collectors can get the sample?
Our Phlebotomists are extensively trained. They learn how to take samples from a comprehensive range of patients, including those with 'difficult' veins. They are advised to only have two attempts at taking your blood. You may be requested to return at a later time if we are unsuccessful. Although this may seem inconvenient, it aims to reduce the risk of any problems and minimize discomfort for our patients. If you have any concerns about having your sample taken, we encourage you to contact us before attending our centre. Some of our staff are specially trained to collect samples from neonates and children under six years of age.
13. 13. What is TAT?
a. TAT is an acronym that stands for Turn Around Time. It is the time taken to complete a test or investigation, and forms the basis to inform clients to come for their results.
14. 14. A doctor did not refer me for testing; can’t I just walk in and choose my test(s)?
a. You can simply walk in to the office during lab hours to have our trained staff to draw blood and collect samples for diagnostic tests.
15. 15. Do you render services for HMO clients?
a. Yes, we do render services to HMO clients; provided the HMO is registered with us and you come with a proof of identification under the HMO you are registered with.
16. 16. Is my information kept confidential?
a. Any information given to us is confidential, including your test results. Your personal information will only be used to order tests and call you with your results.
17. 17. Can I get a refund for test not done that I paid for?
